Dear CCCNJ Families,
Welcome to the Chinese Community Center of New Jersey (CCCNJ). Since its founding in 1974, CCCNJ has supported Chinese families in preserving their heritage language and cultural traditions through education. We are proud to be the only school in northern New Jersey that provides Cantonese language instruction for children ages 4-13.
After two years of digital learning, we are thrilled to be back in the classrooms and have many exciting activities planned for the 2022-2023 school year. I am looking forward to reconnecting with returning families and welcoming new faces.
Last year was my first year as principal, and what an amazing (and interesting) year it was! I am truly honored to be part of such a hard-working, compassionate, and caring school family. But, truth be told, CCCNJ is so much more than a school–it’s a place for camaraderie. It’s a place where friendships are forged over dan tats and nai cha. It’s a place where we help students be successful and enjoy coming back week after week. It’s a place where families of all ethnicities and all walks of life are welcomed and respected.
As your principal, I promise to keep students at the forefront of every decision we make as a school and ensure every child is valued and cared for. I invite parents to get involved whether it’s joining a committee, being a classroom parent, volunteering for a school activity, or lending a talent. Together, we can foster an even more rewarding and enriching experience for everyone.
Thank you for choosing CCCNJ. I look forward to another fantastic year!
Warmest regards,
Carolyn Tom
Principal
